Proud Member of the Slow Painters Club

I think it is official. I'm in the slow painters club. I take my time painting and am happy to do so!

To show that I'm in the slow painters club, I've used Lone Pilgrim's painting points chart (reproduced below):

* Infantry = 1 point
* Cavalry or bikes = 2 points
* Monster or Dreadnought = 5 points
* Vehicle = 10 points
* Superheavy vehicle = 20 points

So far in 2009, I've collected under 40 points, most of which is contained in my predator, a rhino, and my Nurgle daemon prince. I had aimed for at least 50 by this stage in the year!

I'm a fully paid up member of this club too. But, I must confess, the blog has spurned me on to get things finished and then shared. Usually takes a good week to do one 'lil fella and longer for tanks (hellhound was an exception). Might have to start a tally to justify my expenditure!

I've only managed 19 points this year...

I think the scale needs to take into account conversions, and have a seperate scale (maybe 3 points) for Independent Characters. I'd maybe scrape 25 then.

I think I'm on the fence. Currently sitting close to you guys at 39 points, but I have a bunch of goblins that need to be done friday and will bump me close to 70.

I think painting points should be kept to painting - conversions shouldn't affect it. But I do agree character models should go for double points or something due to the detail.

I'm starting to understand with this point system is needed, i build far to many models for how much i paint.
I don't think i have 10% of my models painted so far, so i may have to join you in this point system.

I trump you all, I think. My total is one big fat zilch... Given, I'm about to remedy that, but I think, for the moment, I could be considered the club's mascot... :D

Yes! Count me in too.
I've got lots of partially finished models on my table. While that adds variety to my painting, it leaves for a lot of clutter that can sometimes keep me from getting restarted.

Like Siph-Horridus, I'm motivated to open the paint pots by keeping up with the FTW blogs, though I'm way behind on updating my own.

Wow, that's a nice point system, I think I've got about 70 points so far this year... I've been on a craze!

What's wrong with 40 points around this point in the year?
That's about what I have...

I need to get back to painting. I made the mistake last time I started of just grabbing some random models from my marines and trying to do them. Need to pick a combat squad and do it then move on to the other half of a unit. Rinse and repeat.

Hi Folks,

Glad to hear that I'm not alone! That's a relief. :)

Ron: Nothing wrong with about 40 points at this time of the year. It is simply that I had aimed higher.
