Summary Page Update

Although this post is short, I have been working behind the scenes to update the Horus Heresy Summary Page. This now includes the entirety of Liber Custodes (i.e., Legio Custodes, the Sisters of Silence, and the Diviso Assassinorum). Additionally, the Zone Mortalis journal tactica has been added.

That brings to a close the Liber Custodes reviews.

Next up will be another Journal Tactica, followed by the long-awaited Liber Mechanicum in due course. Lots more to come!

And Dreadtober is approaching as well!

Vindicare Assassin Build

The Vindicare Assassin model is sold as a single blister pack in all plastic. The price is fairly steep for a single miniature though, but I got one regardless since I wanted the challenge of painting it.

As a build, the miniature was very easy in many respects. I think the only "mistake" if I can call it that was that I shaved a bit too close to the shoulder when I was removing it from the frame. Although it was mostly push-fit, glue is certainly required. The pose is nice enough and I didn't feel the need to undertake any conversions with it.

My premise to paint it up will be to use a digital glitching camouflage approach. I'm not quite sure what the exact form of that will be, but I'll decide once I've figured out the colour scheme for the rubble behind the assassin first. He will then have an identical scheme for the main part, and black on the left and right hand side I think. More on this concept later in the week I hope!

Warhammer: Birmingham City Centre

No trip away from home would be complete without attempting to hunt down the local Warhammer store and checking it out. Recently, it was the turn of the city centre of Birmingham!

Birmingham is often referred to as the second city of the UK (but I do know a number of Liverpudlians who would dispute this and would explicitly note that London is the second city). As such, the infrastructure for getting there is excellent. Birmingham New Street train station is one of the busiest railway stations in the UK with 36.6 million transits in 2024-2025 making it the busiest outside of London (but not the largest by any means). The Warhammer store is literally a short stroll up the road from New Street station.

The store isn't big in the grand scheme of things, but it is well appointed and the staff were very friendly toward me (yes - I know its their job, but still, they were genuinely enthusiastic!).

What caught my eyes the most were the window displays: one of each for Age of Sigmar and Warhammer 40k. The detail of these were excellent. I was quite taken by the Age of Sigmar one myself (the reflection of me in the glass and the general light in the background also don't do the image much justice - it was superior in real life I assure you!). The Salamanders were very nicely painted in particular.

Great job Birmingham and you certainly passed my "mystery shopper test"!
Onward to the next store whenever it happen!

Liber Astartes and Hereticus Reviews Complete

It has been a long road to get here, but the main entires from both Liber Astartes and Liber Hereticus for 3rd Edition Horus Heresy are now completely reviewed!

The summary page has been updated!

So, the obvious question to readers is this: which volume should get reviewed next...? Please feel free to make suggestions in the comments below. I will cover everything eventually, but I'm currently pondering which book to focus on next. Also, if I've missed your favourite Legacies unit, please also do shout out as I've included a number of them, but not all of them since many models are simply no longer available.

Another Update to the Horus Heresy Summary Page

Working hard today on giving an update to the Horus Heresy 3e Review Summary Page!

This update includes the Blood Angels, Thousand Sons, Support, Fast Attack, Heavy Transports, and where we are currently up to with Armour.

Yet to write about: the rest of the Armour section, Lords of War, and the Dark Angels legion! Hence we should be finished with the main Liber Astartes / Hereticus books in the next little while (month or two). Then onward to the other Libers in due course.

Resurrection of the Astulae Adventure Blog - Now Complete

About 15 years ago, I had this bright idea for a blog based adventure game called Astulae. It started out as a "Choose Your Own Adventure" style game with more than a strong hint of the computer game "Myst" thrown in for good measure.

As I was designing it, things got complicated fast. Very fast. It became a sprawl of dead links and things that I needed to go back to and write more about. And on top of that, I'd created a cypher for the link pages themselves that at one time meant something. But when I returned to them recently, I could not make head nor tail of the cypher I'd used all those years ago, and had long since lost my (physical) notes.

I turned to artificial intelligence and asked it to figure out my cypher. Which, of course, it did, in next to no time. With this in place, I have been tinkering with it and finishing it off. And today, it is ready to play, and 100% complete-able. So, if text adventure games in the spirit of Myst tickles something in your mind, head over to Astulae.Blogspot.Com and see what you think! Feedback very welcome.

[Aside, this became the starting point for this roleplaying game that I later published on DriveThruRPG: Astulae which is now a best seller.]

Warhammer: Manchester

A chance trip to Manchester recently, and as per usual, I sought out the local Warhammer store. This used to be inside the Arndale Centre the last time that I visited but that was over a decade ago now. The store is now Warhammer rather than Games Workshop, and it is physically located on the outside of the shopping centre along the very busy Corporation Street. It is well served by the local tram network at the Exchange Square stop and easy access to all the rest of the shops, buses, and major railway infrastructure in Manchester.

Let me start by showing you the impressive shop window display. I noted that the old location was amazing, but they've continued the theme of blowing away the competition in the new store as well (apologies for the reflection).

But when you go inside, the diorama of tyranids and genestealer cults assaulting the Blood Angels just gets even better.

I mean, check out the tyranid space craft in low orbit here. Let alone what is dropping from the skies. And all those missiles and laser blasts. Furnaces (water on the outside). Okay. I'll shut up. Just look at the images.

Elsewhere in the store is no different. Some really excellent displays. Horus Heresy caught my eye, of course.

But also these daemons! I think I feel inspired to try to do some conversions myself for daemons of the ruin storm now...!

And the staff were so friendly with me too. I suspect they remember my visit despite me wanting to be the anonymous shopper that I usually am. I took too many photographs. I regret nothing though. I'm really inspired now!

Steam Style Review of Isstvan 3

Thanks to ChatGPT, I give you the following: a Steam style review of Isstvan 3!!
[Emperor's Children loyalist variety]

- -

Not Recommended.
26.3 hrs at review time.

Avoid unless you are extremely committed to punishing difficulty, broken command structures, and being lied to by every system that is meant to protect the player.

The deployment begins normally enough. Standard compliance theatre. You know the routine. Then, without meaningful warning, the campaign reveals that your own commanders have flagged you for deletion, the sky turns toxic, half your faction disappears in the opening minutes, and the rest of the experience becomes an extended endurance mode against impossible odds.

To be clear, this is not “challenging” in the satisfying sense. This is a betrayal simulator with survival-horror elements. Respawns are effectively disabled. Reinforcements do not exist. Air support is hostile. Extraction is fictional. Supply lines are gone. Mission updates consist mostly of discovering fresh layers of treachery while your brothers die around you.

And yet, infuriatingly, it works.

Because once the scale of the deception becomes clear, the whole thing sharpens. Every corridor matters. Every magazine matters. Every last stand becomes personal. You are not fighting to win the map. You are fighting because the alternative is to accept that everything you served was already rotten. The game understands this, and it leans into it with brutal consistency.

Enemy variety is also strong. Arrogant duelists, frothing butchers, trench-stubborn killers, cold administrators of death. You really do get the full traitor roster, each with their own special way of making the galaxy worse.

Boss design on the command tier is especially effective, because the real mechanic is not damage output but moral injury.

Pros: Phenomenal atmosphere. Excellent desperation-driven combat. Strong squad cohesion mechanics, especially when everyone knows they are already dead. One of the best final-act tonal collapses I have ever seen.

Cons: Tutorial lies to you. Faction loyalty system catastrophically bugged. No meaningful victory condition. Ends exactly as badly as it should.

I cannot recommend it to anyone seeking fairness, closure, or competent leadership. I can recommend it to anyone who wants to look treachery in the face and still choose to fight.

Verdict: 10/10 experience. 0/10 command structure.
Would die on the walls again.

Gaming Gitz: Lectio Primus Vorias

I have had the distinct pleasure of working with Gaming Gitz over the past little while to generate ideas and discussions. It is a superlative YouTube channel that I have followed for some time, so you can imagine my delight when we started talking properly about all things Horus Heresy.

When asked whether I had a character in mind who might be under-explored in a short, I eventually settled on Lectio Primus Vorias of the World Eaters: their chief librarian during the Heresy. He occupies a particularly grim position within the Legion. The World Eaters librarians were lucid enough to witness their brothers descend further and further into blood-madness (largely since they didn't take the Butcher's Nails without perishing), even as they themselves remained loyal to Angron and to the Legion’s wider cause. It is a bleak and fascinating vantage point, and, as ever with the World Eaters, it does not end well.

Gaming Gitz tells that story in Lore Told Poorly here.

A big shout out to Rafiq and the team at Gaming Gitz. If, like me, you are a something of a Horus Heresy and Warhammer fanatic, then this is a channel that I really favour and can whole heartedly recommend to you! Check it out at https://www.youtube.com/@gaminggitz/featured , click subscribe, and give the team support over there with some likes!

Warhammer Glasgow

I was in Glasgow this week due to travels. As per usual when I visit a location, I do try to make an effort to find and navigate to the local Warhammer / Games Workshop store.

Sadly, my travels were also immediately after the very large fire that affected Glasgow Central Railway Station. The image captures what I saw on the day along Union Street where both Warhammer Glasgow and the train station are located.

Union street (visible in the image) was physically roped off by the emergency services. In the background of the image is the aftermath of the fire with one of the buildings adjacent to the railway station destroyed and the fire services still spraying the scene with water. The Warhammer store (and the railway station itself) is on the left obscured by the van with the red and yellow chevrons.

Hence this post is a shout out to Warhammer Glasgow. I hope you manage to regain access to the store soon (I know from Facebook you still haven't regained access), and I hope to visit again at some future point in time. Best wishes from Warpstone Flux and your would-have-been mystery shopper.

Summary page updated

Today's post isn't a very exciting post. It is simply this: I've spent some time updating the Horus Heresy third edition summary page.

We have now reviewed 7 loyalist legions (Dark Angels and Blood Angels yet to do), and 7 traitor legions (Thousand Sons and Word Bearers yet to do). Let me know if you have a preference for the next legion in the comments below (otherwise I will choose!).

And I'm still missing some core units as well. Elites, Support, Heavy Transport, Fast Attack, and Armour are all still yet to do. Yikes! I will turn to the Lords of War last to be honest. Again, let me know if you have preferences in the comments below.

I will get through every single unit eventually - we swear it as the oath of the moment!

And then onward to the other books!

The 2025 Retrospective

Greetings on the Eve of a New Year (Western Terra that is).

As befits the date, this is the annual retrospective, with a few stats thrown in for good measure.

The major gaming event of the year 2025 for Warpstone Flux was, of course, the release of the Third Edition of Horus Heresy. Of course, with any new edition, there are controversies. I am not immune to them either. I think when third was first released I was in shock about not merely the scale of the changes, but also the limitations (i.e., squad options that were lacking) placed on units at the point of release. Most, but not all of this, was cleared up with a FAQ and the Legacies release. But my word: this was nowhere near the clean launch that the community wanted or deserved. I recognize full well that there are many folks still playing Second edition, either in protest or that they genuinely prefer the rules set. This is reflected in Warpstone Flux with my summary pages for Second Edition still being exceptionally popular even after Third Edition was released. And I get it.

For Third Edition though, I have grown to like it. It isn't perfect. Some of the issues about dreadnoughts (contemptors) still remain. Speaking personally, I never liked the switch away from using armour values in First Edition for dreadnoughts (roast me). But the pysker powers work, the army building is actually more fun (you can take almost what you want) and the rest slots in nicely. I'm disappointed with the nerf that Primarchs have had and displeased with Master of the Legion not granting Rites of War any longer -- that was a massive and unnecessary change. Challenges are interesting now and you won't get tar pitted against Vulkan for an entire game at least. I approve! Overall, Third is a different game, but I actually like it now.

I am still in the midst of reviewing the main legions, and will finish next year. Then on to Questoris Knights, Mechanicum, and the rest. I might go lightly on Black Shields since many of the rules are the same. And: Shattered Legions works in third edition now (unlike Second - hence this is a massive improvement in my opinion!).

Here on Warpstone Flux, some pages have been more popular than others, as you might expect. With the release of Third, the summary page for the new edition remains in the number one slot. And of the legions that I have had chance to review so far, the Alpha Legion dominates by a good margin. Again, this does not surprise me. The next legion down is the Iron Hands which, to my mind, remains one of the strongest legions in third edition.

For Third Edition, the most popular unit review to date is for the Saturnine Terminators. This is closely followed by the other types of terminators: Cataphractii and Tartaros. It seems that I am not the only person in the world with a fondness for terminators of all different kinds! Even the Indomitus Terminators review scores in the top 30 for the year. The most popular legion entries are also terminators, with Gorgon Terminators and Lernaean Terminators right up there with the Phoenix Terminators some way off.

For my armies, I have decided to pause my Alpha Legion collection - it does not need to grow any larger unless there are specific characters released that take my fancy. The same pretty much goes for my Iron Warriors. I am currently focussed on expanding World Eaters and Emperor's Children, alongside the Shattered Legions of Salamaners, Iron Hands, and Raven Guard. I am tempted to make an allied force of other legions (I'm thinking Death Guard or Thousand Sons at the moment, but that might change).

The other thing that I am working on right now is to save up some money to buy the resin Primarchs. I've got a few now, and I am really a big fan of not only assembling them, but also painting them up. I've really enjoyed working on Angron in particular this year and had a blast painting him up as he literally stomped over his unwanted "sons" on the base. Such a tragic figure and a tragic legion really. I also really like the legion specific models in resin. If money weren't an object, I'd snap up a unit of every terminator belonging to every legion to be honest!

Plans for 2026 then are to:
(1) conclude the World Eaters and Emperor's Children factions that I have.
(2) expand the shattered legion forces.
(3) where I can afford it, expand my Primarch collection.
(4) consider a new force as an allied detachment to begin with.

Long term aim is to have a unit from each legion in my collection, but I favour some more than others, it has to be said.

I hope you've enjoyed this small retrospective and look forward to more reviews and hobby goodness from Warpstone Flux in 2026!

Winter Break

Dear Readers,

It is that time of year again and I will be taking a short Winter Break from blogging. Thanks for reading along so far this year! I will try to have an annual review before the end of the year and then get back to more hobby goodness in 2026 alongside yet more Horus Heresy reviews and thoughts. I hope that Santa brings you some hobby goodies if you have been good girls or boys(*)!

Merry Christmas from Warpstone Flux!

First Saturnine Terminator Built.

I have completed building my first Saturnine Terminator from the Saturnine boxed set. And I hated it.

Look, I am hardly a newbie. I'm fairly old. I've been in the hobby decades. And this is one miniature that I genuinely did not enjoy building. It was not that it was too hard, but I found myself thinking that "these parts should have just been a single one on the sprue". There were many instances of this.

Some of the parts are outright fiddly. Positioning all the legs ball-and-socket joints was a challenge. One that I can cope with, but also one that I ended up not being impressed by. I think I build a very static looking Saturnine next rather than one with a bent knee. The cork I used was too high for the miniature in hindsight, but the glue held it tight already by the time I realised it wasn't going to work out very well. So this one is caught mid-stride in a natural swing (left arm behind, right leg behind) looking like the plasma is about to be unleashed.

The shoulder pads were also a pain. I found it better to glue the big two sections together first, and then add the support underneath, followed by the piping over the top. I also did not like the feet.

What I did like was that the weapons were snug enough to be interchangeable (but I don't think I will be changing them). Choice of heads was nice to have as well.

I would actually have liked more range of weapons to be honest. It feels like the two ranged weapons and the fist just isn't really enough options for a terminator.

Five more to build, but I might leave them till I get rid of the glue from my fingertips caused by this one at least!!!

Warpstone Flux Star Rating Explained

Since Second Edition, Warpstone Flux has been using a star rating system to describe units within the Horus Heresy (Warhammer 30k). Today, I wanted to say a few words about the rating system.

Firstly, and most importantly: all ratings are subjective.
Secondly, all ratings are subjective.
Thirdly, the first point was so good it needed repeating (see point two). Now go back to point number 1.

Okay, joking aside, what I want to emphasize is that my long term readers REGULARLY disagree with my ratings, and I am certain that any new reader will also do likewise. This doesn't mean that the ratings are useless, but what it does mean is that there is a balance to be struck and I am ALWAYS OPEN TO FEEDBACK (seriously, I want the blog to be useful to the community). How do I go about achieving that balance then? Well, I try to at least be consistent, and here are my rough parameters:

5/5 Stars (⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️). This means that the unit is excellent! I do not give 5/5 stars lightly, nor do I give them all the time. I only give them to truly outstanding units. In this context, outstanding and excellent mean at least several of the following are true. Well above par stat line. Excellent special rules. Alignment with fluff / background is exceptional. Rule of cool applies (this is where the subjectivity comes in a lot, of course). Potential for game domination, or turning the tide of a game is very high. In some cases, the unit might be "broken" in some manner, shape, or form (or put another way: you don't make friends by fielding this in some circumstances). Arguably, you NEED this unit in your army (cf., Praetors).

4/5 Stars (⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️). With 4 stars, the points cost of the unit is well worth while. The stat line is above what you might expect for the points. The special rules make them stand out, or perhaps the combination of special rule. There might be strong build flexibility allowing the unit multiple battlefield roles, or without builds they can take on multiple roles easily.  Whilst they are not 5/5 stars, they come very highly recommended and they represent some of the best in the game. You are also likely to come across them in both friendly and tournament play. You need to think that you will be encountering them, or that they are popular. They function well! They might also be very fluffy (which I like, and which will boost their star rating from me since 30k cares more about this than 40k).

3/5 Stars (⭐️⭐️⭐️). These are average or typical units. If the humble tactical squad is 100 points, then this unit is also worth about the same (i.e., you pay for what you get - but note that I rate the humble tactical squad much higher than this for different reasons). They might not have many, or any special rules. They probably don't even have an invulnerable save most of the time. Their stat line is average, or typical for space marines (etc.). Nothing particularly stands out to me, or quite often: the weaknesses of the unit are offset by their strengths. They're okay. Not brilliant. Not poor. Solid performers.

2/5 Stars (⭐️⭐️). In some way, these units are sub-par. They are not quite worth their points cost, or they are rare to field on the tabletop because there is some flaw - intentional or not. They might be over-designed or too bespoke. They could be ineffective, or perhaps even cannon fodder (which to be clear: is still useful for quite a number of builds). They probably die quickly and easily, or can be exploited. Or perhaps you only field them because they are fluffy and appropriate. You are still likely to encounter them on the tabletop in friendly games, and fluffy tournament lists. But not all the time.

1/5 Stars (⭐️). There's something very wrong or bad with this unit. It might not be designed well. The points cost might be horribly high in comparison to its effectiveness. The stat line is terrible. The special rules exhibit major drawbacks for you in the game by making the unit less effective than anything of its ilk should be. No one plays this unit realistically outside of very friendly games, or games where you are just testing out ideas and concepts. They might not even be fluffy (if they were fluffy and just bad, I might give them 1.5 stars or 2 stars).

0/5 Stars. I honestly don't give this rating much, if at all. If I did, this would signify unplayability. Like a combat monster who can never charge (I'm looking at Night Lords dreadnoughts in second edition shattered legions for this level of silliness and star rating). Make no mistake: if I refuse a star rating, something is terribly wrong to the point of not being able to be played rather than just being bad.

I often use half stars. I will round up or down to get a whole integer for these to display on the blog, and half stars are therein only mild descriptions (I might as well write 3.5 stars as a 4 star minus, or similar to be honest).

Caveat Emptor applies. I remain your humble servant, and but a fallible human being.

Saturnine: Arrived

It. Is. Here.
Finally - I have Saturnine, and slightly ahead of schedule!!

It is big. The parcel weighed nearly 10kg (>1.5 stones). And it is filled with glorious hobby materials! I'm going to spend some time today digesting things, and the I will get going with some THIRD EDITION REVIEWS later this week. Hope you're all looking forward to this adventure!

Excitement building!

UPS Delivery

My consignment of Third Edition is apparently with the UPS delivery company.

I was optimistic that I might receive it tomorrow (Saturday), but I am now resigned to the likelihood that I won't get my hands on third edition until Monday next week. At that point, the new suite of reviews will begin with a bit of luck! Until then, I shall be living through all of you, looking at the miniatures you are assembling, painting, and trying to not be tooooo jealous!

Summer Preview of Mark 2 Assault Squad

The summer preview that recently happened shows close ups of the new Mark 2 Assault Squads for the Legions in Horus Heresy (and presumably 40k if you want to go that way).

What I like about this kit is not simply the posing possibilities and dynamism that is on display.  It is the presence of the accessories and weapon alternatives such as the power mauls, heavy chainaxes, volkite serpenta, disintegrator pistols, and the combat shields - which for the first time are round ones judging by the Salamanders one that was painted up!

To me, these scream World Eaters. And it is for that reason alone that I will be buying them. That, and I'm also sick of having almost no reliable option for chain axes for the World Eaters in 30k that are not overly Khornate or come from other ranges. Simply brilliant! But don't get me wrong, I think this assault squad would suit almost any legion to be honest. After all, the legions are very large and not all of them will be equipped with chain swords.

What I do find interesting on the Warhammer Community web page is this snippet:

"You’ll find the rules for the Legiones Astartes Assault Squad in the Liber Astartes and Liber Hereticus books, where you’ll find that the chainaxes are a points-free alternative to the classic chainsword loadout you might have seen elsewhere."

Why are they the same points values when free replacement of chain swords with chain axes was always (always) a World Eaters boon? Does this imply that chain axes have the same weapon profile as chain swords now? I will find out in a week's time, but if anyone has spoilers for me, I'd love to hear from you (either here or by email).

Changing Hobby Plans due to Third Edition

At the start of the year, I noted down some hobby plans for the year ahead. These were:

"I'm thinking of maybe expanding my Mechanicum mini-force slightly to make a full (if minimal) primary detachment. I am more considering some Black Shields though - I just need to determine which my favourite Oaths are. Its actually a really hard choice! I might also get a unit of Solar Auxilia las rifle men to be ruled over by an Overseer when the space marine model for that gets released."

Due to the announcement of Third Edition, I am now having a bit of a re-think.

Firstly, and probably most obviously, my Black Shields are in a state of limbo (let alone Shattered Legions). We do not yet have sight of how either will be handled in the new edition. Although I liked the Black Shields, it has to be said that the Shattered Legions rules were simply a mess.

Therefore I will shelve these ideas for the moment in favour of detachment expansion plans. Specifically, I want to look at expanding the Emperor's Children and World Eaters detachments that I already have in place.

I will need to evaluate what to do with the new boxed set, and where the miniatures will go. I don't think I will start a new detachment just yet (even if Death Guard or Thousand Sons are appealing right now!). Instead, I think I will expand World Eaters and Emperor's Children. I am sorely tempted to also expand my Shattered Legions forces including Salamanders and Iron Hands (maybe Raven Guard, but probably not) with the Mark II miniatures included in the new set. I might assign the terminators to my existing Iron Warriors, but I'm not sold on that concept just yet. I'll have to decide! I think I won't expand my Alpha Legion any more since I have a rather full collections of Alphas already.

As for the Mechanicum, I remain to be convinced just yet, but it remains viable.

I also want to see the possibilities for the Overseer joining the Solar Auxilia las rifle men in a bit more detail before deciding on the colour scheme for the Auxilia and whether to glue bayonets on (etc.). None of these decisions are critical, but the new edition feels like it has put a lot of the concepts and ideas I had at the start of the year on hold for the moment. So I'll wait to see the proverbial whites in the eyes of the new rules before planning in any deeper details.

Horus Heresy 3rd Edition: What Will Be Moved to Expanded Units?

Legacy Units. Expanded Units. Non-Core Units.
Call them what you like, but they've been a feature for a long time.

The first time that I genuinely took note of the movement toward such non-core units was when the Caestus Assault Ram was no longer sold by Forge World. At that point, I did wonder about what people might do to purchase them. There's clearly a reasonable second hand market on eBay, and I would wager that 3D printing can help out (but I have never looked as I don't own a printer). Yet it is the first unit that I think of when considering those Legacies.

Although I am quite certain that the Caestus will make it into the new pdf release, I am left wondering what may or may not be transferred across from the core rule book into those pdf releases. I realise we already have some shape of that from seeing the contents pages leak for the Libers for the new books. But I'm equally conscious that we've not seen everything yet.

I also wonder if the pdf booklets will include the unusual armaments that we've become accustomed to else where (like those melta guns on Mor Deythan) or whether we really will be stuck with un-usable conversions in all of our armies. The community - at least to my mind - really flourishes with conversions and bespoke miniatures that I frankly love to see on the tabletop. So many great conversations about conversions and paint jobs whenever I have managed to get to tournaments ensue, and I really want that aspect to continue strongly. But I remain very concerned about how Games Workshop / Warhammer will attend to these notable deficiencies. I remain convinced that power fists on Tartaros terminators will be a day 1 FAQ or similar. But what else will be? And what will be relegated like the Caestus ultimately. My Black Shields plans hang by a thread!
