A recent posting by Drathmere at 40k Hobby Blog started me thinking about where the modern traitor chapters emerge from. From codex: space marines, we know the "more than one-half" of all marine chapters derive from Guilliman's gene-seed. Therefore, it may follow (but perhaps not necessarily) that the bulk of modern traitor chapters derive from the Ultramarines.
So my thought for the day is this: could it be that Guilliman's gene-seed has ultimately created more traitor marines than the Iron Warriors (etc.)? Or, as my suggestive image may indicate, do modern traitors gene-seed mostly come from elsewhere :)

Potentially. I think UM seed at least gives them a run for their money over all the years.
I'd expect that the original traitor legions do still replace some from their own, and that there are lots of them out there (one historical event, the Dominion of Fire, mentions Angron leading fifty thousand berzerkers). Even if a lot of those come from sources other than the World Eaters themselves, it's still a heck of a lot.
As in-canon sources explicitly states that the Grey Knights (chapter 666) are the only space marine chapter in which not a single battle-brother has ever turned traitor, that must mean traitor geneseed can come from a variety of sources.
I mean of Space Wolves can turn traitor... (see relevant account of the 'Wolf of Fenris' from Chaos propaganda document)
The space wolves have only one example of heresy through the wolf brothers mentioned in (Battle of the Fang Novel)...
I imagine the new modern heretics coming from non first founding chapters in which most come from Gullieman so I see the point being made in the first place...

I guess the Grey Knights and the Black Templars are pretty sound... Although the righteous fall harder and faster than any other!?!?!?
That been said, about the GK's.. When you think about it, the old 2nd-ed. GK codex forces and fluff set them out to be intolerant of Daemonic taint, and yet with the new 5th edition GK's we get things like Purifiers walking about with Daemon-possessed weaponry, 'haunted' Terminator Knights, unkillable abberations, and even Khorne-like behaviour! (see Bloodtide/Sisters of Battle massacre).
The old 2nd ed. GK's would totally purge the new 5th ed., if it were not for the fact they'd be so underpowered and over-costed by comparison of gaming terms..
